A bad advert is a waste of money

Businesses spend a ton of money on advertising. In some cases, they also spend a ton of money to ensure the adverts actually work by commissioning expensive market research.

So why do they break the most fundamental rules time and time again?

Rule number one I would have thought is ‘don’t put text onto a dark coloured background or over an image’. You can’t read the copy in this ad. They may as well have written nothing.

You don’t have to go to marketing school to pinpoint the problem. All you need is a dose of common sense.
